I submitted some of my photography to Collegetown ART, a project of the Sustainability Hub at Cornell. The group engages in projects for a more sustainable campus and community.
My photography won First Place and will be on several recycling/trash cans that will be distributed around Collegetown to make recycling and waste cleanup easier on the community.
Yesterday, I attended the awards ceremony. Collegetown ART is very excited about having my art in their project. I think it is wonderful that they will use art in this recycling/trash can project, since I am so committed to and in love with nature here in the Ithaca area. When I see garbage, it makes me very sad. I think these students’ work is a great step towards making the Ithaca and Cornell communities heal our relationships with the natural environment.
